🏆 The WTDGA Cup
A Season-Long Challenge Leading to the Ultimate Match Play Event
The WTDGA Cup is a season-long accumulation of points that could earn you an invitation to compete in a two-day Match Play Championship.
At the end of the season, the Top 8 Gross and Top 8 Net point earners will qualify for this prestigious event.
How to Earn Points
Play in as many WTDGA tournaments as you can — the more you play, the better your chances!
The top ten finishers in each event (Gross and Net) earn points according to the WTDGA Point Schedule.
Every player who participates and finishes an eligible tournament will earn participation points no matter their score.
For special team events where individual scores aren’t recorded — The Tomec, Solheim, and Foursomes (Scotch) — each player earns 23 participation points.
The Senior Championship does not count toward Cup points since participation is limited to players aged 50+.
All other tournaments that record hole-by-hole scores count toward the Cup, making it a true individual season championship.
The Playoffs
The WTDGA Cup Match Play is contested over two days:
Day 1: Two 9-hole matches
Day 2: One 18-hole championship match
Gross Division: Head-to-head, no strokes given.
Net Division: Players receive strokes where they fall — off the low player.
Seeding follows USGA guidelines:
1 vs 8, 4 vs 5, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6.

Important Notes for Players
Cup points are calculated independently from the main tournament formats.
The WTDGA Cup is an individual stroke-play competition across the entire field.
The Cup race is not flighted — winning your flight doesn’t necessarily mean earning the most Cup points.
Except for the Two-Day Amateur Champion bonus, the official tournament results do not affect Cup standings.
Pairings for WTDGA tournaments are created by handicap, not Cup points — as points don’t always reflect current potential.
