On September 14, 2023, the WTDGA presented the Barbara Thompson Award to its namesake, Barbara Thompson, Executive Director of the WTDGA. The WTDGA will continue this tradition by awarding an individual who embodies Barbara's 60 years of dedication and service to women's golf and the WTDGA.

On September 17, 2024, the WTDGA proudly presented long-time WTDGA member Dot Anderson with the 2024 Barbara Thompson  Award. This award is not given lightly; it is a testament to Dot's dedication, leadership, and significant contributions to women's golf. The Barbara Thompson Award honors those who have made an outstanding impact on the game and have shown exceptional character, sportsmanship, and dedication — qualities that Dot possesses in abundance.

Winning this award is a reflection of Dot's enduring commitment to excellence and her profound influence on the WTDGA and the broader golfing community. It recognizes her tireless work, her positive spirit, and her ability to uplift those around her, and the significant impact she has made on the game and the community.
