On September 14, 2023, the WTDGA presented the Barbara Thompson Award to its namesake, Barbara Thompson, Executive Director of the WTDGA. The WTDGA will continue this tradition by awarding an individual who embodies Barbara's 60 years of dedication and service to women's golf and the WTDGA.

Sadly our namesake, Barbara passed in 2025. Her legacy continues with the Barbara Thompson Award.
